Mae Govannen!

Welcome to my brand-new website!
Chances are if you’re here at this point in time, you know me either in real life or online, so perhaps introductions would be redundant. But hopefully this site will take off and reach new people over time, so hello, readers from the future! How are things across the space–time gulf that separates us? This is the closest I’ll ever get to time travel, so allow me to enjoy this moment for a bit.
OK, now that I got that out of my system, hi! My name is Louis, though you can probably tell that from the site masthead, unless by the time you read this I will finally have come up with a better name for this place (Update: As of April 5, 2014, I have!). I’m a 22-year-old developer, aspiring writer, artist, animator, and a veritable geek/nerd (it seems people can’t quite agree on the definition of each term, so make your pick). You can probably tell I have a lot of hobbies of a more artistic nature, hence my desire to showcase them here. After about a year and a half of writing irregular blog posts on Google’s Blogger platform, I figured it was about time for a revamp. So I moved my blog to my own domain and added different sections to house my many hobbies and passions.
So, it’s time for a quick walkthrough.
  • You can find my regular blog posts, including my old ones from the Google Blogger days, on the home page. You can start with last week’s post, which was supposed to launch this site, but was instead published a week early due to timing issues.
  • To check out my artwork, you can follow my art blog, where I will upload and discuss different pieces as well as update you on work in progress. I already have a couple of posts up in that section, so check those out. If you just want to browse my artwork gallery, take a look at some sketches or some fan art—more drawings will be added in the future, of course, and galleries will be created as needed.
  • You can also take a look at my animation work. Start by checking out some fun stick figure animation videos I’ve made over the last few years. I’ve also uploaded everything I have of my old Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows animation project, which I’ve since scrapped. Another Harry Potter animated project I’ve been working on is the omitted scenes project, though unfortunately at this point I’ve nothing but work in progress up on that page.
  • And to cap it off, I’ve added a brand new comics section! Follow the link for more details on that, but I’m very excited about it.
Before I let you go, I just want to sneak in a special thanks to my love Clara and my good friends Jihane and Anthony for supporting  my site and spreading the news about its launch, and to both them and my best friend Ziad for giving me support and encouragement long before I even had a blog.
Of course, feedback is always welcome, so please feel free to leave a comment, or contact me on Twitter or via email. Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy!
